Oreo Milkshake Recipe and Video
I am not much of a cookie person. However, I don't mind Oreos. The combination of the dark chocolate cookie and cream is delicious! I recently made a peanut butter milkshake as well and that went down really well so I decided to make an Oreo milkshake as well.
How to Make Whipped Cream from Scratch
Start by adding ½ a cup of double cream to a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and whisk until stiff peaks begin to form.
Oreo Milkshake Ingredients
- You will need 8 Oreo's for this recipe. You can get them at your local supermarket or online.
- Add 4 cups of good quality vanilla ice cream to this recipe. The quality really does make a difference.
- ½ cup milk will loosen this shake. Option to use full fat dairy milk, low fat dairy milk or plant based milk. It all depends on your dietary needs.
- Whipped cream for topping is optional. You can use shop bought whipped cream of make it from scratch yourself.
- ¼ cup chocolate sauce is also optional for decoration. Use shop bought chocolate sauce or make your own! To make your own chocolate sauce melt ¼ cup of chocolate chips of good quality chocolate in a microwave at 30 second intervals and mix. Do this until the chocolate becomes liquid.

How to Make Oreo Milkshake
- Add 8 Oreos, 3 cups of ice cream, ½ cup of milk to a smoothie maker. Blend the mixture until smooth.
- Pour Oreo milkshake into a cup. Create a drip effect around the rim of the cup with the chocolate sauce, top the milkshake with whipped cream, add some Oreo crumbs to the whipped cream, and top with more chocolate sauce! Serve and enjoy.
NB: This recipe can serve 2 people or 3 using smaller cups.

Alternatives
This Oreo milkshake is easy to adapt:
- To make a vegan version of this milkshake use plant-based milk, dairy-free milk and vegan chocolate instead of chocolate.
- For a low-fat Oreo, milkshake use low-fat milk and low-fat cream.
- You can also add chocolates or caramel to this recipe.
Top Tips:
- Make sure you use a fresh pack of Oreos. The last thing you want is stale Oreos.
- If you want to decorate this shake then you will need 2 packs of Oreos.
- Use high-quality vanilla ice cream for this recipe. It makes a difference!
- When adding whipped cream to the milkshake don't fill the milkshake up to the top because it will overflow.
